January 4, 2010 Music Monday — "Restored" by J. Moss
I love the song “Restored” from J. Moss’ latest album, V3: Just James. The lyrics say, “I’m restored/ I’ve been rewarded/ I’m redeemed from guilt and shame/ Never rejected, just reconnected/ Now I’m exalted because I know His name.” What beautiful lyrics. I imagine if King David was around, this song would be his jam. [...]

November 12, 2009 More than enough
I may not have everything, but I am abundantly blessed. Look for the blessings in your life. Look for the opportunities to be grateful. We’ll find plenty of things to complain about, but that is not God’s will. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 says “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

May 28, 2009 Eyes on the prize
Sometimes I really wish I could turn back the hands of time and re-live parts of my life with the knowledge I have now. I can think of so many ways I could improve my current situation if I could just change something in the past. But knowing we can’t change the past, how do [...]

“Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.” Jonah 1:17 The Word says “there is a way that seems right to man,” but often the way that seems right to us is exactly the opposite of what God [...]

March 2, 2009 It's all good
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” Romans 8:28 We all know life isn’t a bed of roses. We go through problems and situations that make us wonder why God would let it happen to [...]

March 1, 2009 Standing on the promises
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13 In his hit song, “Stand,” Pastor Donnie McClurkin asked, “What do you do when you’ve done all you can?” In these times when so many people are losing [...]

August 18, 2008 Do you believe?
Survey: Many believe in divine intervention – CNN.com. Fifty-seven percent of Americans believe God can intervene in what looks like a hopeless medical case. Guess what? I agree. I believe Matt. 17:20. I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ [...]

August 6, 2008 I made it
Marvin Sapp’s hit song, “Never Would Have Made It,” could probably be the theme song for most Christians. He probably never imagined his song would dominate the No. 1 spot on the charts for so long — more than 40 weeks now, I think. And if you listen to Christian radio, you know you’ll hear [...]

August 5, 2008 He'll take the pain away
Yesterday I talked about the women who influenced my life. One of those women was my pastor, who went to be with the Lord in June. To say that I was shocked and devastated by her death is an understatement. I’ve never cried so hard in my life. When I got the news, I just [...]
