About

About writing:

Words have power. Just one word can devastate or uplift a person. I choose to use my words for good, to touch people’s lives.
I’ve been a reporter for four years. In that time, I’ve had to write about all kinds of things. Sometimes the subject matter is very depressing, but I always look for the hope. There’s hope in every situation, and that’s what I try to bring to my writing.

About me:

I was an education reporter at The Free Press in Kinston for three years. I loved writing about issues involving children and families, but God sent my Prince Charming and it was time to move on.

After getting married to Wayne Edward Sutton on June 18, 2005, I moved to Raleigh and began writing for The Wake Weekly. There I cover Wakefield, an affluent community in North Raleigh, and Rolesville, a small town near Wake Forest that’s experiencing a lot of growth.
